Earlier this month, the newest streaming service for Christians launched: EKKL. We will tackle the obvious question first. According to their Facebook page, “the name EKKL comes from the Greek word ekklesia, meaning a gathering of people brought together around what matters most.”
Among their initial offerings are LIGHT OF THE WORLD (the animated story of Jesus), THE BLIND, DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT, BETWEEN BORDERS, GOD’S NOT DEAD, and many other favorites.
In addition to movies and television series, EKKL also provides podcasts, audio books, daily devotionals, community engagement, and member deals as they look to differentiate themselves from competitors.
EKKL joins with the likes of Angel, Up Faith & Family, Wonder Project, Minno, Yippee, and Great American Pure Flix as streaming options for you and your family.
Like Wonder and Angel, EKKL will also have a movie-releasing component. ELIJAH PEEL, which opens in theaters on August 14, is their next release.
EKKL is a partnership between Michael Scott, who started Pure Flix, and members of the Robertson family, including Willie and Korie. Zach Dasher is also part of EKKL leadership. In an article in Variety, Michael said;
“EKKL is built for families who want great stories, authentic voices, and experiences that add meaning to their lives. With Willie, Korie, Zach, and this incredible group of creators, we are building something designed to meet audiences where they are—in theaters, at home, in their daily life, and in the moments that bring people together.”
