The Faith Film Fan Podcast is now 50! Well, it’s actually now 50+ episodes into its wonderful run of introducing you to the filmmakers and stars of your favorite faith films.
Our recent 50th episode highlighted the first time both Rick Altizer and Alita Reynolds hosted together, talking about why they are such big fans of faith films.
“Films can communicate in a way that no other mediums can,” Rick says. “A film can break down barriers we have and connect.”
“What’s so great about these films is you can invite your friend who might never step into a church building, but they’ll go to a movie theater with you,” Alita adds. “I love how a seed can be planted and a life can be transformed in so many different ways.”
In addition to the 50th celebration, Rick and Alita recently jointly interviewed industry leader Bob Elder about the state of faith films and series in 2024 and what lies ahead in 2025.
“For the first time since we’ve been tracking Christian films, 2024 was the first time we had a faith film in theaters every day of the year—from January 1 to December 31. You could find a Christian film in theaters every day,” Bob says.
One of the fun elements that Bob talked about for 2025 is an influx of animated faith movies.
“We have three animated features (scheduled) this year. … I think our audience is going to be really pleased because these experiences will be wonderful for families, but they’ll also be wonderful for reaching the world and reminding people of who their creator is and how much God loves us, that he would sacrifice his son for us in the case of the two gospel-focused ones.”
