King of Spring Box Office!

Do miracles happen today? If you ask The King of Kings director Seong-Ho “Jay” Jang and producer Dennis Cho, their answers would be a resounding yes! After all, it took Jay 10 years to bring THE KING OF KINGS to audiences!

A 3D-animated movie released by Angel Studios in 3,200 theaters on April 11, the response to THE KING OF KINGS has been remarkable. As of May 4, the movie has earned more than $57.7 million at the box office and is now the biggest animated biblical movie ever!

“We are blessed by all the audience that came out,” Dennis said on a recent Faith Film Fan Podcast. “We saw videos people posted on TikTok and YouTube.  We saw all these kids crying and they’re happy about getting to know Jesus.  It was very touching for us.”

The film shares the story of Jesus through the words of Charles Dickens sharing it with his young son Walter. This imaginative retelling of Dickens’ “The Life of Our Lord” is brought to life in 3D-animation with the unmistakable voice talents of Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, Mark Hamill, Pierce Brosnan, Forest Whitaker, Ben Kingsley, Oscar Isaac, and others.

“Jay prayed every day, and he experienced miracle after miracle over 100 times,” Dennis shared. “It was a miracle that God helped us to release the movie. We did it in less than four months. I think that was almost impossible.”
