As the global ambassador for Come and See, the non-profit foundation committed to sharing Jesus with one billion people around the world through THE CHOSEN, Stan Jantz is leading the charge to provide free resources to people around the world—in their native languages.
“Dallas (Jenkins), from the very beginning, it’s always been for him, ‘How do you reach a billion people and how do we keep it free?’” Stan says. “So that’s the real key.”
Stan was recently a guest on the Faith Film Fan Podcast as THE CHOSEN: LAST SUPPER began its extended residency in movie theaters with Season 5 of the series being shown in 3 parts throughout the month of April.
“One hundred thousand donors from 150 countries funded Season 5,” Stan says. “And it’s just amazing because we are so appreciative when people bring their loaves and fishes, as it were, that God’s going to multiply.”
Faith Film Fans like you have been at the leading edge of helping entertainment impact the world for Christ since the first season of THE CHOSEN.
“Nobody was going to take a chance (on the show),” Stan says. “So they crowdfunded it and had 16,000 people give $11 million, which is just incredible. It broke all the records for crowdfunding this kind of a project. And then the next two seasons were pay it forward or PIF, as it’s known. And that worked okay. But the problem was it wasn’t keeping up with the quality of the production they were aspiring to have, as well as some other issues.
“So this nonprofit, Come and See, was started up in order to take on that role of funding and raising money for production, but also something that no other distribution channel would have done—translate it into 600 languages.”
