Mykelti is forever known for his role as Bubba in Forrest Gump<\/strong>. But did you know he\u2019s acted in more than 100 movies<\/a>? It\u2019s something he tells FFF Podcast host Rick Altizer he doesn\u2019t take for granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a privilege to do what we do, to make movies for you (the fans). It\u2019s definitely a service industry for me,\u201d Mykelti says. \u201cIt\u2019s a service to the audience as the final analysis. But that\u2019s what it is, man. And if you do it right, you can make a good living while you\u2019re at it. But you never forget the audience. That\u2019s the most important part.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But more than all of the movies he\u2019s been in, Mykelti wants to be known for being a follower of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was raised in church. And every Sunday I was in church, but church wasn’t always in me. You know, I was a mischievous little kid growing up in the South,\u201d he says. \u2026 \u201cSo that’s kind of a standard that was poured into me when I was a kid. But I became real serious when I met someone who lived their life for Christ for real. I met a gentleman by the name of Dwight. And the way Dwight lived his life and carried himself, he was so serious about Jesus, but not in some like put-off kind of way, like preaching to people. \u2026 \u2018You can see how I live. You tell me if I am or not. I’m not telling you that. You tell me, brother. Look at my works. Look at my life.\u2019 So that’s the way he lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Man, I don’t know what it is you have, brother, but I want that.\u2019 I’ve got all the money. I’ve got the nice, expensive car. I’m single. I got money in the bank. But I don’t have that. What is that? He said, \u2018That’s Jesus.\u2019 \u2026 And he broke it down, and I was like, okay, I’m in. And so I’ve been in ever since, and I’m authentic with mine, you know what I mean?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
