While the long Fourth of July weekend is now in our rearview mirror, do you know what’s coming up? Yep, July 4, 2026!
What makes next year’s celebration special? It marks the 250th anniversary of our nation’s independence.
And what does that have to do with faith films, you ask? Surprisingly, quite a bit!
Angel Studios, in partnership with the Wonder Project, used this year’s Independence Day weekend to announce YOUNG WASHINGTON, a biopic covering the early years of the first president of the United States. The movie will be directed by Wonder’s Jon Erwin, the director of the hit series House of David.
And when does YOUNG WASHINGTON release? You guessed it: July 4, 2026!
While movies sometimes are announced a year in advance, what made Angel’s announcement unique is that they already have tickets on sale! (Kind of.)
You can purchase ticket codes now (at $10 per ticket) in preparation for the movie’s release next summer. Angel is even giving away an F-250 (get it?) truck to get people on board with purchasing tickets a year in advance.
Angel Studios says the movie is “set against the frontier of colonial America, (and) brings to life the untold origin story of a 21-year-old George Washington—long before the Revolution, long before the Constitution—when a single mistake nearly cost him everything.”
You can read more about the movie in an exclusive story on The Wrap. You can be among the earliest buyer of movie tickets at Angel’s website.
Let us know in the Comments section what you think: will you be buying movie tickets a year in advance?
